'Tis the Wedding Season

We're now in the most popular wedding season. The Irish have an old wedding tradition that I have incorporated into my novel, What Might Have Been:

"The sound of a single bell ringing at even intervals caught their attention. Turning, they watched as Mavis, stunning in her emerald gown, rang the bell to ward off evil spirits in the Celitic tradition as she approached the pulpit."
