About Marianne Plunkert

Marianne Plunkert is a published author with over thirty years of experience in the industry. Her undergraduate degrees are in English and mathematics, and she has an MBA with a finance emphasis. After spending 25 years in academia, teaching finance and reviewing and writing finance textbooks as an independent contractor for major publishing companies, she retired early to devote more time to her true passion, writing. Since that time, she has worked as a freelance writer, editing manuscripts and ghostwriting articles and books on a variety of subjects while a novel she had begun years ago remained on a back burner.  Friends and family members who had read some of the early chapters hounded her to finish it. She is now hoping to publish her debut novel, a historical romance set in the 1860s as both the Civil War and the Indian Wars were raging.
