Decisions, Decisions!

I've been busy doing more research as I think about another novel. I'm unsure whether I want to fast forward a few years from What Might Have Been and focus in on one of the minor players (Mavis seems to be a favorite) or create an entirely new cast of characters. I'm also considering another genre--perhaps a mystery or paranormal. What would you like to see? I'd love to hear your opinions.
